Pastries in March Box

What's in the box?

Each month the Nixtamal Pastry Box will feature an assortment of unique pastries. Nixtamal proudly partners with the Bakersfield College Culinary Arts Program and the Renegade Room to create these delicious items. Chef Marah Meek, faculty in the Bakersfield College Culinary Arts Program, is the creative mind behind the Nixtamal flavor.

The March Box features:

  • MORNING BUNS
    rich and flakey rolls with bursts of orange and cinnamon
  • THUMBPRINT JAM COOKIES
    classic sugar cookies with a pop of seasonal jam
  • SAVORY SCONES
    bacon, gruyere and chives
  • ALMOND-LEMON TEA CAKE
    bright and citrusy cake with lemon icing
  • BOSTOCK
    guava jam with almond cream baked onto brioche
  • DEVIL’S FOOD CHOCOLATE CAKE
    layers of velvety chocolate cake, caramel and chocolate ganache
  • SEASONAL HAND PIES
    seasonal fillings packed inside a light, buttery and flakey pie crust
  • FLOUR SACK TOWEL
    handmade by nanette art and design
